Read the case study titled “Thought It Was Safer than Starting His Own Business,” prior to doing the assignment.
Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:
1. Assess Fred’s capability and capacity to be a franchisee in general and for this specific company.
2. Evaluate Fred’s misconceptions about being a franchisee. Speculate how common these misconceptions may be for all new franchisees.
3. Suggest what Fred could have done differently to be better informed and Advise Fred on action he can or should take now knowing his situation.
4. Use at least two (2) quality academic sources to support your answers. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Assess the historical development of franchising, different types of franchises, and how the franchising concept has been applied. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of franchising for both the franchisor and franchisee and the different components of the franchise business plan. Use technology and information resources to research issues in chain management and franchising. Write clearly and concisely about chain management and franchising using proper writing mechanics.
