    This course provides an introduction to the basic principles of group psychotherapy operations. Emphasis is on gaining both firsthand experiences and a conceptual grasp of membership issues in group therapy; therefore, this course consists of both experiential and didactic components, including those related to diversity in group process, and is structured to help students integrate their thoughts and feelings with their experience This course focuses on providing students with a broad understanding of group development, dynamics, leadership styles and different approaches to conducting group therapy. Theories of group development and relevant research are also addressed.
