The foundation of an effective treatment plan is the data gathered through biopsychosocial assessment. Data can be collected from interviews, client history and records, testing, or collateral contacts. This course focuses on application of advanced knowledge and skills in the assessment/diagnosis and treatment planning process. Specific steps for developing an effective treatment plan based on assessment data and recognizing the uniqueness of each client are described. Theory-based case conceptualization and treatment planning, using a variety of interventions and approaches, are applied to both behavioral problems and/or DSM-IV-TR diagnoses.
